An Early Summer Brunch Dream
Oh New York, is there anything like it? I am fortunate to visit NYC quite often for work and this most recent trip was extended so I could stay the weekend. This meant brunch…
I love brunch and I will never understand people that don’t like it. You don’t like breakfast? You don’t like lunch? THAT’S THE BEAUTY OF BRUNCH, PEOPLE!
Anyways, my fellow foodie friends picked Public for a beautiful Saturday morning brunch.
Moody:
The space is airy, open, and peaceful which just sounds ridiculous considering that the space was probably an old warehouse and we were seated where the old loading docks once were located. Public is a perfect setting for brunch and I wouldn’t mind RUNNING back for dinner sometime soon. Ninja star awarded.
Boo Factor:
Yes! Sharing brunch with your boo would be perfect at Public. The space is joyful and full of sunshine. The ideal spot to gaze into your lucky one’s eyes and have some delicious food. Ninja star awarded.

Service:
This was a few weeks ago, but I believe the service was good…no stand outs. Ninja star awarded.

DD:
I’m not much of an alcohol drinker in the morning and I like to stick to a classic cup of coffee and their drip coffee did not disappoint. It was richly black and very strong. Just how I like it!

Pretty yummy:
You better hope that a Michelin rated restaurant’s food would make me swoon… and it did. Ninja star awarded.

Harmony:
I picked the Coconut Pancakes with fresh ricotta, mango salad, and ginger-lime syrup. The pancake was more dense than a normal pancake, but in a surprisingly pleasant and filling way. The coconut flavor was subtle and played well to the fresh ricotta which I’ve never had on a pancake before but is definitely a combination I would seek out again.
The mango obviously was delicious but the ginger-lime syrup was forgettable, albeit good. The table ordered a side of the Grilled Chorizo and the Quinoa Hashbrowns.
The chorizo is probably one of the best things I’ve put in my mouth in a long time. It was perfectly grilled with a slight crispy coating and just a bit spicy. The hashbrowns were unique, unexpected, moist, and yummy. Ninja star awarded.
Overall yummy in my tummy:
Overall, my foodie friend did not disappoint in her pick at Public. I’ll be adding it to my NYC repertoire of restaurants. Ninja star.
