Tequila Tuesday!
Well the carb thing didn’t last too long (we’ll get to that later) and my friends suggested a rare Tuesday evening get together for dinner and drinks at the Taco Joint. Taco Joint is conveniently located down the street to where I play skeeball (yes, I play on a skeeball league) and I’ve been destroying it lately!
Anyways, let’s get on with it.
Moody:
Taco Joint is not a huge space and of course, they don’t take reservations. We had a group of 5 on a Tuesday night and lucked out that they had one table available, but we saw a slew of other people waiting their turn. The space is casual, fun, and perfect for a care-free dinner with some tequila. Ninja star awarded.
Boo factor:
Taco Joint is a no frills kind of place, perfect for an early dinner or lunch so you can avoid the crowds. Not the most romantic of places but still a cool place to chat, get some food all over your face, and laugh at each other. Ninja star awarded.
Service:
Everyone in the party wasn’t on time and the hostess and server were very gracious to let us sit down while we waited (it didn’t hurt that we started off ordering some drinks). The server was attentive and we were never left wondering where she wandered off to. Ninja star awarded.
DD:
All I have to say is the Grapefruit Margarita went down too easily. It was the right balance of sweet and sour and it left you feeling a little tipsy without even realizing it while you are drinking (dangerous!). Ninja star awarded.
Pretty yummy:
Everything looked great, ninja star awarded.

Harmony:
Taco Joint is unique in a couple of ways. One, on Tuesday the Taco of the Day is chosen by suggestions people make on twitter. Second, you order using a sheet of paper with the menu items on them (sushi style). But before we get to that, we ordered a flight of three versions of Guacamole. We ordered the Tradicional with avocado, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and serrano. We also picked the Rojo with avacado, roasted tomatoes, roasted onion, and roasted red jalapeno salsa. The final choice was the Special of the day which I can’t recall all the ingredients but it was my least favorite.
I really enjoyed the Tradicional, sometimes you just can’t beat the original. It was flavorful, fresh, and had huge bits of avocado. I loved the sweet plantain chips served with the guacamole which gave it a little sweet/salty flavor.
As for the mains, I ordered the Tuesday special which had pork belly, guacamole, and red cabbage. This taco was flavorful but a little too spicy for my taste.
Overall yummy in my tummy:
You can’t beat the price point and all the fun variations of drinks and food. Ninja star awarded.

Banoffee factor:
Unfortunately, we didn’t make it to dessert. Maybe next time. No star applicable at this time.
Taco Joint is a simple but fun place to catch up with friends and enjoy some interesting Mexican food and drinks. I can’t wait to go back and have another Arabe!
Taco Joint comes in at 7/9 ninja stars.
Till next time, peace out food ninjas!
